Received the first pump. Set it up per instructions in full sunlight and it worked perfectly for 5 minutes. Contacted the seller/company and received a full replacement pump and solar panel in a few days. Prompt, courteous customer service! Apparently, the solar panel was defective on the first shipment.

This is a tiny feeder. It says on the dimensions are 5.1 x 5.1 x 10.6 inches. But the 5.1" is actually the lid size. The main body size is 2.75" wide and 2.75" deep and the feeding ports are 1" above the perches. It's pretty and I'm keeping it(paid $13). I won't bother putting seed in it though because I don't have any seed eating birds that small around my house.

I own two of these feeders. They are absolutely wonderful and the hummingbirds love to feed from them. I have used other feeders, the more traditional kind. The problem is with the slighest wind they sway and the necture leaks out. With the Schrodt feeder the wind can blow but the nicture does not leak out.

Birds Choice Stainless Steel Tube Nyjer Bird Feeder, 1-Quart Review

I ordered this after going through many fabric "socks". The fabric ones were being chewed by some bird or mammal so had to be replaced constantly. This unit fixed that problem. It doesn't hold quite as much as it looks - less than one of the fabric socks I was using. It does leak quite a bit when filling it - I have to hold it over a container to avoid losing the expensive nyjer seed. Not sure to what extent seed leaks as it sits out. The goldfinches adapted quickly to it, and empty it out in a little over a day. I haven't seen other critters/birds on it, such as house sparrows or squirrels.

To release the top you just pull on it, and push it back in to close. It stays on just by friction. I was a little concerned that it might just open on its own while hanging, but so far (2 months) we haven't had a problem.

Be careful when closing the top. The wires that keep the top attached to the housing push back in along the sides of the tube. If you're holding the tube near the top the wires can jab your hand - I got a cut the first time refilling it. Hold it near the bottom instead.

The unit doesn't come with any hanger, so plan on having some location with a hook where you can hang the feeder.

I'm pretty new to having bird feeders. I bought a suet holder a few months ago, and have had limited success with a variety of suet cakes - they usually last a week or two. I ordered a few of these cakes, and the birds are going nuts for them! They haven't lasted more than a day. This pack contains a large (3 lb) container and a separate smaller dispenser (1 lb approx). The larger one takes a 3 lb pack of wild bird seed from Nob Hill and has a convenient pouring spout and top trap door for locating the inner seed pack. It is very well designed and I can store it in the garden ready to fill all my feeders. It is sturdy enough not to be penetrated by beaks of hungry blue jays who can't wait for their breakfast! Woodlink NAGGTUBE4 Audubon Going Green Tube Mixed Seed Feeder Review

It's taken a few years of bird-feeding, but I've finally learned that it's more cost-effective to buy quality (but more expensive) feeders as opposed to constantly replacing el cheapos because they've degraded from the sun, parts have broken, they're impossible to clean, or have become cloudy. Audubon feeders have none of those problems, plus they use some recycled components, so they're "greener" than the cheapies, too. Audubon feeders are the easiest-loading feeders I've used as well. This particular model has a quick-release button that removes the bottom plate to allow for easier cleaning. The seed also stays quite a bit drier in the rain than most feeders I've used.
