This feeder has worked about 50% of the time. I tried it with a hopper feeder and, though the baffle extended past the edge of the hopper, when the baffle tilted to slid the squirrel off, they were able to grab the edge of the feeder half the time. I am now using it to protect a long thin thistle feeder and it does well as the edges are much farther away from the baffle edge. It does well keeping rain out of the food. One other problem occurs when the squirrels are on the feeder. They get the feeder to spin and this screws the baffle loose causing both the baffle and the feeder to crash to the ground.
