Parasol Basketweave 4 is inspired by 1930's Depression Glass. Parasol's blown glass Basketweave bottles feature a beautiful woven pattern on all sides. Square shaped bottles fit into baskets with individual perches. The basket handle has a center knotch for easy hanging. Each bottle has a red glass hand blown flower feeding tube which is removable for easy cleaning and filling. A small hook for hanging and instructions are included. My hummingbird feeders must have perches. That way, the little guys and gals can hover if they want, or they can take a load off their wings. That's the first thing I look for in a hummingbird feeder. This one does have them. They're mounted on the sides of the basket.

There are four feeder bottles, approximately three ounces each, green in color, and four flower/feeding tubes, red in color. They are colored glass, not glass with color coating. You don't want color coating. Eventually it comes off, and I'm not sure it's good for the birds. They can't come back if, well, you know, they eat something bad. The materials are first-rate, and I love the way this feeder works.

It also comes with an S-hook, which is fine for hanging from a shepherd hook. If you plan to hang this from a tree branch, you'll need to put some kind of hanger on the branch, and hang the feeder from that. You can also mount the basket on a post. Each feeder is an independent unit, so feel free to nail the basket down and pull the feeders out to clean and refill.

Another thing you might want to try is putting it on a flat surface closer to the ground, especially if you like the hummingbirds but don't have flowers to attract them. Most real flowers are close to the ground, so they won't hesitate to feed if you set them down lower. Just make sure you don't put it on the ground, or near any ants. That would not be good.

There is no yellow at all on this feeder, which I mention because yellow does attract stinging insects. Yellow has never stopped me from using a feeder, but I've never been stung while using a feeder with no yellow.
