When a heavier bird, such as a startling or blue jay land on this....the chamber closes....only part way.... the chamber does NOT close completely. I have it at the extreme setting !!

I called the company twice I and they are "looking into the matter..." but several days have passed and I have not received a replacement spring OR a good explanation.

I have seen Heavy birds land on it and they quickly learn to flap their wings - in order to make themselves "lighter"....The chamber opens even further for them, and they eat as much as they want.

It does close when a squirrel lands on it -- but you will be filling this chamber up more often than you would have liked. I bet.
