I used this platform in conjunction with the pole topper cover and they work great together. The platform is now large enough to allow a lot of birds on it at one time without the overcrowding and fighting. I had a smaller version of this platform; but, the birds just seemed too crowded and with the upgrade I have more birds frequenting the feeder. This platform seems pretty much bomb-proof and after a couple of months of the bluejays constantly holding seeds in their little feet on the platform and then pounding the heck out of the seed to get to the inside, it shows no sign of wear. The screens inside are rigid and durable and the whole thing is easy to clean. I highly recommend this product.
