This waterer cannot stand the elements. (I live in a humid hot climate.) If it is exposed too much, the bottom becomes loose and falls off. There is not a snug enough latch to keep the tray attached and the water doesn't have a good enough suction to keep it full. My suggestion would be to use it indoors for chicks or temporary solutions. I'm very dissapointed in it. I'll stick with rabbit water bottles for my chicks from now on or the chicken nipple and gravity fed waterer.
