Would not recommend more than 3 full size hens and only if you plan to let the girls free range when you are home. Hens should ideally have 10 square feet each for the run with a minimum of 4 square feet. Hens prefer not to be alone and so keep in mind when getting this coop. It works fine as a nursery for young hens (pullets). I use it as a nursery before moving the girls into my flock.
