Nice and quiet, it does seem that the birds appreciate it. It didn't even seem like they needed time to get used to it.
Update: After about 14 months, it has stopped working, and the scum in the bird bath bloomed. I accidentally left it out during a freeze, and it was stuck for quite a while last winter. I can't imagine that helped with its longevity! I am ordering a new unit, though - the caps still fine.
