Dr JB's Hummingbird Feeder - Red Review

This is a very nice hummingbird feeder. The top is very well designed for several reasons:

1. The eyelet that you hang from a hook folds down so you can set the reservoir on the counter and pour nectar into it.
2. The reservoir is made of glass. Believe me, after having owned several hummingbird feeders with plastic reservoirs, you will very much appreciate one that is made of glass. Just don't drop it :)
3. The mouth on the reservoir is as wide as the reservoir itself. This makes it much easier to clean on the inside and you don't need use a funnel to fill it with nectar.

So, the bottom though could be improved just a bit. The idea of having two parts that you can pull apart is a good one for cleaning, but this particular feeder leaks a little bit if you jostle the feeder around. I do this because I sometimes have to jostle it back and forth to get the nectar to come from the reservoir down to the red plastic part where the hummers put their little beaks in. It's not a huge deal and isn't a problem as long as you don't move it around as I do. Actually, I bought the First Nature 3051 16-ounce Hummingbird Feeder, because it got the bottom part right. That one has a top part that has none of the great features this one has on its reservoir component as I listed above. Luckily, the top of this feeder (the one I'm reviewing here) fits into the First Nature 3051 16-ounce Hummingbird Feeder bottom and together they make the perfect feeder! If any of you folks from Dr. JB's are reading this, first of all, kudos for designing and building such a great reservoir, and secondly, I highly recommend buying a First Nature 3051 16-ounce Hummingbird Feeder and studying it's bottom part to see how you could improve yours.
