Soda Bottle Bird Feeder Review

We bought three of these to use for our 8 year old daughter's school experiment.

They are of good quality, and work exactly as one expects. Simply poke a couple holes near the bottom of the two liter bottle to attach the included hanger, fill the bottle with the help of a funnel, screw the feeder/perch unit to the mouth of the bottle, and hang.

We have several other bird feeders which are nicer, but were rather expensive. The reason I assigned 5 stars to this item is because it does exactly what it should, and does it well for the price. There are some aspects of the finished feeder which are less convenient than our other feeders (ease of filling, ruggedness), but it cost about 1/20th of our other feeders.

A word of caution, though. These will not work well if you have squirrels around. There is nothing to prevent them from getting to the feed, and it seems likely that they could very easily chew through the plastic bottle.
